Semi-Truck Driver Sentenced for Fatal Hit-and-Run on N. Kansas Expressway

SPRINGFIELD, MO — Greene County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Patterson announced today that Melvin Lee Battle was sentenced to five years in the Missouri Department of Corrections. Though prosecutors opposed probation, Judge Jerry A. Harmison, Jr. suspended the sentence and placed the defendant on five years of supervised probation for leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death.
