Springfield Man Sentenced to Prison for Terroristic Threat at Downtown Library

SPRINGFIELD, MO. — Greene County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Patterson announced that on January 22, 2026, Mykhael Hack was sentenced to two years in the Missouri Department of Corrections after pleading guilty to Making a Terroristic Threat in the Second Degree, a Class E felony.
The charge stemmed from an incident on December 5, 2024, at the Park Central Library in downtown Springfield. According to court documents, Hack threatened library patrons, stating he "had a gun and was not afraid to use it." Hack also made threats against employees of the Greene County Children's Division, damaged property, and caused a disturbance that disrupted normal operations at both the library and the State Office Building.
